Flying Pig Farm—Our Story

It all started with an idea . . . and a truck.

I'm a seventh generation farmer. My husband started out in the city but quickly found his place in the rural way of life. We have always looked forward to sharing our appreciation for nature with others.

My grandparents operated a grain farm together for over 65 years. Although she wouldn't trade the farm for anything, my grandmother would joke that farming would make you rich "when pigs fly." Well, remember the truck? My husband and I purchased a 1954 Dodge, sight unseen. When we went to pick it up, we immediately noticed the painted pig on the door under the name Flying Pig Farm. That's when it all came together.

We might never be rich, but we're happy to be able to live the kind of life we enjoy. It is our pleasure to be a part of Local Bounty and to share our fresh produce, heirloom plants, grass fed beef, pastured chicken, non-GMO eggs, canned goods and bakery items with you. We hope that the goodness in what we raise will make you smile.
